International Student Program & Host Family Program
TO THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OR INTERNATIONAL FAMILY
Since I first began helping international students attend school in the US back in 2006, I have had the privilege of serving students from Germany, Philippines, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Chile, Vietnam, Turkey, and Japan.  I started American Educational Advantage (AEA) as a company to provide a unique, custom-designed educational and cultural experience for each high school student. The success of these students is our success as well!
My vision at AEA, is to welcome and assist students from around the world and help them: gain entrance into very good select, high schools in the US; have a successful and enriching educational and cultural experience; establish new friendships with students, teachers, and families in their new local communities; to grow in English language and social skills, and be prepared to gain entrance to a preferred college or university in the US.
An international student coming to the United States under the care of AEA will be placed with a qualified and outstanding host family who can provide additional educational, social, and emotional support for him or her during the intercultural journey at a select school. At AEA we expect our host families to assist the international student to grow academically, socially, mentally, and in maturity.
Some schools do not currently offer ESL or ELL classes for international students. I recommend that prospective international students be able to pass an English language proficiency test, such as: ITEP/SLATE, IELTS, or TOEFL, Jr. test with a certain minimum score per the requirements of a given school.  Each AEA partner school will have its own language requirements, and each student will need to carefully check this detail.
All AEA international students are expected to carry a full academic course load and perform at the comparable grade level of an American student fulfilling all academic requirements. If you are interested in being part of the educational journey of an international student through AEA, please review the information on all of the other pages on our web site - http://aeanow.com/
You may want to begin keeping a list of questions for me, as I want you to be as thoroughly informed as possible. AEA does pay a monthly housing stipend to a qualified host family, who has successfully completed the AEA Host family application process, and has been cleared and approved to Host. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the services provided by AEA.
